Face Mask Anyone?

I don't know alot about football.  I'll admit that readily.  I went to a high school that didn't have football.  So when they call holding or illegal motion in the back,  I have no clue as to what they are talking about.  It all looks the same to me.... but this.  I'm pretty sure I know what face mask is.  I'm pretty sure this is it.  I understand the reasoning for it being illegal.  I certainly don't want anyone yanking my kids head around by the front of the mask.

So the question is....is it ok if both players are doing it?  I mean how far could you pull the guys helmet if yours is going in the opposite direction?   I'm guessing it is illegal too.  I'm guessing these guys just got away with something dangerous.  I'm guessing each was trying to get the bluff in on the other guy as this happenend in the beginning of the game.

Here is my daughter and one of her best friends.  Loved the lighting this night.  It makes them so natural and beautiful!

Sisters

Here are three friends that have one particular thing in common.....they are sisters to boys on the team.  These three get dragged to every football, baseball, and basketball event their brothers participate in.  Thank goodness they have each other.  Sometimes, its nice to have friends to color with or play tag instead of sitting around watching the game asking when they can go home.

The Girls of Fall

During football season the focus is primarily on the boys.  Often we forget the cheerleaders and faithful fans that help cheer their teams on to victory.  We are blessed at Garber to have awesome cheerleaders and fans.  We took this photo after the homecoming pep rally.  I just love the placement of the GHS on the field under the girls.

The Line

Last night was the 5th & 6th football game vs Kremlin.  Both my boys are on the line.  But even more daunting is look at that entire line. We have some big athletic boys coming up and I am loving every game.
Here are Jake and Josh.  They both look kinda like "make my day"!

Praying

This is a photo I caught last week at the Junior High game.  These boys were the captains and were lining up for the coin toss.

I'm not sure if he was actually praying.  Although, what better time to pray!  They ultimately won the game so evidently it helped.

Family Photo Day

Do you have any idea how hard it is for a photographer to get a family photo?  This could definitely make the funniest/craziest times list in my life.

I just simply want a family photo for Christmas cards this year.  I convince my family to at least shower and get ready on a Saturday.  I tell them to wear black.  Jenni comes down in a red sweater and Jessi shows up in the white shirt.  I say "Jessi that is the opposite of black." her reply "I have a black undershirt on."  Ok choose my battles.

We drive a quarter mile down to the hay meadow.  Get the spot, the rocking chair set up, and my camera with tripod ready to go.  Of course I'm using the lens that has the barrel slide to change from auto focus to manual focus.  It takes me about five minutes to figure why it won't focus.   All the while my loving family is mercilessly making fun of me.

Finally get things set, push the button and run (and I mean run) to get in the photo before the automatic timer takes the picture.  Well we tried that a couple of times (with poor results)  and then my father-in-law drives by.  Tim calls him and convinces him to turn around.  That all he has to do is push a button.  Thank you Albert.  Without you the whole shoot would have been a waste!

So after all the preparations, all I got (before it was too dark) was the one shot.  I had great plans of a family OU/OSU shot but that will have to wait for another time.

Homecoming 2010

Last night was Homecoming in Garber.  The atmosphere was perfect.  A calm night, just the right temperature, stands full of people and three lovely young women riding in the back of some awesome cars.

The comedic moment was when one of the escorts couldn't figure out how to get the door to the corvette open.  I thought for a second he was going to lift her out.  The driver came to his rescue.  Laughing his entire way around the car, he effortlessly opened the door.  I bet that young man won't live that down anytime too soon.

The young man and lovely young lady that had the crown and flowers played their parts perfectly.  They smiled for all the cameras and didn't miss a step.

Having grown up at a school that didn't have football,  I have really grown to love this time of year.  The young kids playing, the adults gathered to cheer on their teams.  It just doesn't get better than this!

Pictures

Wow!  Starting something new can be scary!  But I'm ready to see where I can take this photography thing.  So please enjoy the photos on my website. http://www.beebephotography.zenfolio.com/ and check here often to see my favorites.

This is a photo I took of all the boys on the Boedeker side of my family.  So sweet when they are sitting still. The key to this photo was having moms of the little ones right behind me making all kinds of funny gestures and sounds.  I'm sure if someone drove by they got a good laugh at us.

Remember Christmas is coming quickly and pictures make great gifts.  I also have dozens of Christmas photo cards available.  Schedule your family photo session soon.  The fall leaves make for great backgrounds!

Thanks for joining me on this journey!
